What’s Happening - 2018F

Work continues on the new Barungwarra boat ramp car park.

Thursday 1st November - The path near the Water tap begin to take shape. The exposed rock shows that there is only a few centimetres of sandy soil covering it. It’s not surprising that we had trouble growing grass in this area. Tuesday 6th November - That footpath shown in the photo above has now been set in concrete. The two sections of path are almost complete. Road base material has been laid for the new roadway between the roadside beds and the railway bed. Wednesday 7th November - The pathway has been completed to near the 20 year plaque. Two plastic bollards mark the end of the current pathway. Although the new pathway still has to be connected to the old pathway, this has to be delayed because the remaining area cuts across the area where the heavy machinery is being operated. Any new pathway placed in this area right now would be damaged by road-making equipment running over it. The path crew’s caravans are waiting near the dog off leash area, to be taken to their next project. Monday 12th November- work is continuing on the new roadway. Note the 20 Year Plaque in the right hand picture looking south along the new road. Large area where the new car par is being constructed. 17th November 2018 - Kerb has now been laid for the new access roadway Bushies are holding their monthly working meeting. We were hoping to do some spraying, but the mains water was disconnected. Engineers found that the storm water pipe under the roadway was too close to the surface so they were excavating a deep trench prior to installation of some new pipes.
